MUSIC AND SOUND by Mark
My father was a research chemist by trade but at home he dabbled in electronics. In the 50's monophonic was the standard, Dad built himself a large Klipsh-horn speaker that sat in the corner of the basement. Then he built a Heath-kit power amp and preamp to drive the speaker system. That old tube preamp and 40-watt power-amp sounded great and the speaker system was extremely efficient so it took very little wattage to drive it.

Today speakers and amplifiers have evolved dramatically, power amplifiers now produce massive amounts of power and speakers are designed to handle it.

This is where we'll be exploring the journey of sound more.
